BIAN finalist – Grand Prix du Conseil de arts de Montréal

We are proud to announce that we have been chosen as a finalist for the 28th Grand Prix du Conseil de arts de Montréal for organizing the International Digital Arts Biennial – BIAN 2012.

The other finalists are : Les 7 doigts de la main, Art actuel 2-22, Wapikoni mobile, les Ballets jazz de Montréal, Terres en vues, the Association des libraires du Québec, the Quatuor Bozzini and the Festival TransAmériques.

The winner will be known on March 19, 2013.

BIAN ended on June 13, 2012, with the launch of its last two exhibits, dedicated to RYOJI IKEDA and ALEXANDRE BURTON, at DHC/ART and Centre PHI.

Alain Thibault calls this first edition a success: “With 71 artists on the program at 33 locations across the city and more than 30,000 visitors to date the Biennial was a genuine success and provided unrivalled outreach for the digital arts in Montréal. We are thrilled to have initiated this endeavour and would like to very warmly thank all of the artists as well as our partners, without whom the BIAN would not have been possible.”
